My Story

Catherine Gruener is a psychotherapist who works with adults, adolescents, parents and parents of neuro-atypical children, helping them understand strengths and transform weaknesses to help them and their children thrive, creating healthier and stronger communities. She is an expert with anxiety and an advocate for gifted and profoundly gifted children, known internationally for her work with gifted children and their families, and as author of ‘Parenting Young Gifted Children: What to expect When You Have the Unexpected’.

As a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Illinois and Vermont, national certified counselor, board certified telemental health provider, certified in Positive Discipline, with a Master’s degree in Neuropsychology, second Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling, and two decades’ of highly influential work in the mental health field, Catherine has impacted other’s mental health and wellbeing through her research, international community mental health work, government and community mental health organizations, national and local parent organizations, and currently through her counseling practice and online trainings.

Though she enjoys the therapy relationships in her clinical work, she loves teaching and sharing what she knows in speaking engagements, from private gifted schools like Quest Academy, national organizations like the Davidson Institute, to larger audiences from around the world like at the Best You Expo Long Beach.

Catherine is passionate about sharing her knowledge and has been recognized for outstanding leadership by the International Association of Top Professionas (NY), Elite American Educators, Elite Women Worldwide, Marquis Who’s Who, “Top Female Executive” and as a “Top 101 Industry Expert.”
